Jihočeské Univerzitní a Akademické CTT

The project supported from the Operational programme Research and Development for Innovations whose aim is the setting and opening the Centre of Transfer of Technologies with two mutually co-operating departments on the side of the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice and on the side of the Biological Centre of The Czech Academy of Sciences.

The University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice got a grant for an implementation of the common project of two most important research organizations in The South Bohemia Region - the University of South Bohemia (next only USB) and the Biological Centre of The Czech Academy of Sciences (next only BC) with the name “South Bohemian University and Academic CTT”. The project aims at a consistent registration of the research potential in departments of the USB and the BC and the following use of achieved results in an application sphere.

The main aim of the project is to build a multifunctional platform for the support and popularization of the research, the development and the innovations, i.e. the platform of the co-operation of chosen key regional partners with a significant engagement of the business and public sphere in The South Bohemia Region.

Partial aims of the project

1. Establishment and opening of the JCTT (South Bohemian Centre of Transfer of Technologies), respectively, of the Centre of Transfer of Technologies of the USB and the Centre of Transfer of Technologies of the BC

The matter of the activity is the establishment of two mutually co-operating departments on the side of the USB (the Centre of Transfer of Technologies of the USB) and on the side of the BC (the Centre of Transfer of Technologies of the BC) as the basic organization elements of the system of commercialization at JCTT. Its part is also the support of the organization and administrative anchoring of the departments in individual institutions and the specification of conditions of a mutual co-operation of both departments including the appointment of interconnected bodies needed for the effective transfer of technologies (e.g. a control committee, a licence council etc.)

2. Pilot run of JCTT, respectively, of the Centre of Transfer of Technologies of the USB and the Centre of Transfer of Technologies of the BC

The pilot run of the JCTT, respectively of individual Offices of Transfer of Technologies will be in progress for 2 years and it is a parallel activity to the support of individual cases of the transfer of technologies. The pilot run especially aims at checking the rules of the setting of the system of the transfer of technologies (commercialization) in the USB and the BC and also the evaluation of a mutual co-operation of both departments of the Centre of Transfer of Technologies. The other reason for the application of the pilot run is the increasing of competences of individual employees of the offices of the transfer of technologies through the chosen study visits, specialized trainings, mapping the needs of research workers and subjects of the application sphere and the practical making the plans of commercialization in the relation to the individual results of science and research. A part of the partial aim is also the outlining of the licence fund of the USB and the BC (fund of commercialization), its establishment and the security of the conditions of the administration.

3. Support of the chosen number of results of the research with the potential of the use in the market

The matter of the activity is the identification and the checking of individual results of science  and research with the highest potential of the market use (the highest degree of the marketing matureness) and the pilot controlled assistance to these results in the frame of partial plans of commercialization; including the necessary funding, the security of conditions for the protection related to the industrial law, the analysis of the market use, the searching for partners, possibly the preparation of the spin-off company and the mediation of the sale or the transfer of the licence.

The total output of the project is a functional CTT. The basic function of the CTT is the interconnection of the technological offer (science and research capacity) and the incitement, activation and satisfaction of a technological demand (subjects of the application sphere).

The CTT provides a complex portfolio of services, from the mapping of the research potential and its registration to the practical use of the important inventions made in departments of the USB and the BC or any other, regionally or branch related subject to the canvassing and making the long term contracts and common projects with the partners of the application sphere.
