Program Interreg Austria – CZ 2021 – 2027
As part of the Interreg Austria-Czech Republic 2021-2027 program, which supports cross-border cooperation projects, the Technology Transfer Office of the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice, in cooperation with the LIT Open Innovation Center at the Johannes Kepler University in Linz and partners from the creative industries in both countries, prepared a project application. It was submitted within the program deadline of June 30, 2023.
In December 2023, the application was approved by the Monitoring Committee, which allowed the thirty-six-month Czech-Austrian cross-border project Cocreating - Networks: KreATivita&InovaCZe (CON) to be officially launched on January 1, 2024. The project will contribute to the fulfillment of the specific objective of the program, which is to deepen legal and institutional cooperation. The lead partner of the project is the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice, the Technology Transfer Office, which closely cooperates with the Johannes Kepler University, LIT Open Innovation Center, in Linz, and partners from the cultural and creative industry, such as Art in the City on the Czech side and the Creative Region in Linz on the Austrian side. Its strategic partners are significantly involved in the implementation of the project: the Department of Culture and Monument Preservation of the Regional Authority of the South Bohemian Region, Oberösterreich Tourismus, the Creative Institute, and Business Upper Austria.
The main objective of the project is to raise the profile of the cultural and creative industries in Upper Austria and South Bohemia, to improve and permanently connect their activities. All implemented measures are focused on addressing the specific needs of the cultural and creative industries, providing further education for stakeholders in the form of targeted workshops and cross-border knowledge exchange. A significant added value is the long-term networking of creative actors and organizations in the field of tourism and cultural activities.
The overall result of the project will be a jointly developed cross-border strategy for the creative industries, which will be jointly implemented in Upper Austria and South Bohemia after the end of the project. The strategy will be presented to the decision-making bodies in both territories after the end of the project so that it can be used in the creation of regional and urban concepts in the long term.
The KreATivita&InovaCZe project is implemented with the financial support of the European Regional Development Fund.
