How far has the second quantum revolution progressed – and what opportunities does it offer for research, business and industry? The fifth edition of the OIC Masterclass explores current developments in quantum science and technology, highlighting the potential of quantum technologies and their practical applications.
Prof. Richard Küng (Johannes Kepler University Linz) provides insights into the progress made in recent years and explores developments in quantum computing, from research and hardware to software, business opportunities and current challenges.
Dr Stefan Hillmich, Team Lead and Senior Researcher in Quantum Computing at the Software Competence Center Hagenberg (SCCH), focuses on practical applications. He explains which types of problems push classical computers to their limits and how quantum algorithms could be used in the future for tasks such as optimisation, complex system simulation and machine learning. He will also present current SCCH research projects and share approaches to helping companies prepare for the quantum era.
The OIC Masterclass offers an accessible introduction to a rapidly evolving field of research, its technological developments and its potential impact on business and industry.
